460 cu in sputtering and backfiring
I have an E-350 1996 460. I have removed the cat convertor it was plugged muffler could be plugged Truck starts and runs fine for first 10 -15 miles, then starts sputering and backfiring, can smell raw gas. let you foot of gas and kind of play with it for a minute and it clears up and takes off. for another 10 miles, some days worse some days better. have done plugs cap rotor and wires. thinking o2 sensors or ignition mudule any help thanks

Brian, has it thrown a CEL????? If not, you may still want to scan for codes.....It could be O2 sensors, since it first
runs ok (cold ?). When it is cold, it's running in open loop mode, and the O2 sensors aren't used....
