what intake???

Hey,

I have been looking at intakes and there are not a lot to choose from. Here is what I have. A 429 stroked to 557, comp cam #34-343-4 640 lift 306/260 dur. compression est. 11.5 I have a holly 850 carb but can change this. I have a 3000-3500 stall converter. This is going to be a mostly street driven engine. What intake will be best?? single plane?? HELP!!! Also running the 68 429 cast iron heads with work done to them.

Thanks

The Stealth does rule. However, take another look at his combo and rpm range. Victor jr. is a better fit.

for a mostly street driven, the stealth would be better. with a 1 in. spacer, this intake will pull to 7500 rpm, and with a dominator and adapter, it will pull past 8000( have seen it with my own eyes)/ the stealth scj intake actually peforms better than weiand admits to

The Air-Gap RPM performer is now out so that is another possiblity. With you combo though I think the Victor is the only way to go.

What kind of rig is this going into? I hope it's a truck cause I am fixin to do up a 545 for my van with lower compression for towing. I dieing to see some comments on the power and durability of the 4.5" stroke combo's. If this is going into a car Ford has a pretty nifty looking single plane that should work well. For the street I too would look to the Stealth and tune it with spacers to optimise it for your application.
