trash in oil

The best would be pull the pan & replace the oil pump & screen. The next best is to change the oil again along with new filter. You could also run a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil along with the oil for a couple of hundred miles. Than change it. Do not use an oil flush cleaner as I have seen many an engine engine develope a knock after cleaning due to worn crank shaft bearings being cleaned to much.My 2 cents worth.Have a Ford that is 30 years old, 155K miles & never been rebuilt but the oil change regulary. Uses no oil.

RE: Same Concern...

I just changed my oil & added a can of Wynn's Engine Cleaner to the crankcase. A mechanic told me it was good stuff for cleaning sludge & that it's as good as the more expensive stuff out there. My oil looked pretty grungy, plus I think my lifters were a little sticky. So far, it's been running great & no more ticking!

Get a sheet of magnet and put it on the oil pan, run it with that in place and the new oil, thats will get out most of the metal shavings if any, drop the pan and replace the screen, and as mentioned earlier.
