It is next to the duct but it does not get that hot. The bat is a lithium ion bat and lithium will remain solid to 302 deg F so I am pretty sure before it got that hot in the truck I would have gotten out

Nothing like a good idea to steal, I mean borrow. I did the same thing to my F250 today. The only difference is that I made a stencil for the maglight that I copied from the F250 name plate. I painted a blue maglight with white letters. So now I have my own custom Maglight that says F250!!!!!
I've got an Streamlight Ultra Stinger on the way with the charger (both DC and AC) etc...
Power is going to be an issue on this and other projects. Wish there were more Power outlets in the truck other than the Cirgarette lighter and the power connector on the dash.
I'm thinking of adding a multiplug in the back area and something that I can use under the dash out of the way.
I'm guessing that I will have to go to the battery for these as I don't know where or what to connect to the fuse block if that is even an option.
For a variety of specialized lights, try this site; "Briteguy.com". I have purchased several style types from them. They're cheaper than Amazon and have better selection. No, I'm not a rep, etc. I'm a fireman that needs a quality lite w/me that won't fail. I personally vouch for the Surefire and M3(tactical) lites. I keep a D.C. rechargeable Streamlight 20xp under the seat and a Surefire 6z (tactical-lite) in the door pocket.

I just hard wired my stinger, it was quite simple. grounded it right to the metal and ran a wire to the a constant hot on the fuse panel, it draws very little amperage... just my .02
And as far as future projects go, im getting a painless wire cirkit boss so it will be an easier install for me. that way ill have more options instead of making my fuse panel look like spaghetti

To w6pea: Oops, I meant to type "Brightguy.com". I have several other types as well, including a light that attaches to my bunker coat chest clip w/ a 90 degree angled head.

Hmmm never heard of those before. Sounds like a good idea. Would be nice to put one under the dash where it is reachable and run one to the back wall of the cab.
From that point on, you could then just wire what you need to them instead of hunting down the wiring each time some new comes along.
My wifes new SUV has power plugs all over the place... too bad they didn't do that with the truck.
Daimon 1054, how did you attach the Streamlight to the carpet? Also where did you attach the power to the charger. Is an AC charger what I need to install this light to my truck? What are the benefit of having both AC/DC chargers? Dusty4353
