I have a rotten F250 4x4 high pinion 44 , 460 c6 205 and dana 60 and there are lots of 1 ton 2 wheel frames I thought I would put it all under a 1 ton frame . They appear to be stronger and the rust is bad here. Plus I have been known to load heavy. I will put this together Just wondered how painful it was gonna be. It's still in the snowbank yet. I was hoping someone had been as adventuresome or foolish as to try this.
i just converted my 73 2wd crew cab f350 to 4x4. the front spring perches came from a pre 77 1/2 highboy and they just bolt right on all the holes are already in the 2wd frame for those. the front spring shackle brackets came off the same truck and while the holes werent there i just layed it out and drilled knew holes and bolted them on. works perfect.
Thanks 78extended. That's what I wanted to hear. I think I read that the hiboys had a narrower frame. Is this from front to back fellas or only on the rear? More info is good Thanks in advance. I'm sure someone here has this all figgered out
Don't be shy boys. Let's hear it . If you think I'm nuts for doing this please say so. I will post pics of the process. I was just hoping someone else had done it first. I have no desire to be the first. Just want that rugged frame under my truck. If the original was any good I would clean it up and blow some Tremclad on it
