Quiet Cummins...
Yesterday our little town had a Christmas parade. I was standing at the curb when the local Dodge dealer's exhibit drove by. It was a Ram 3500 dually with the new Cummins ISB. The surprising thing was, it was really quiet. Once it passed, you could tell it had a variable geometry turbo due to the exhaust hiss. I'm impressed they could take so much noise out of such a loud engine.

Yes, we had a winter show here at our arena and the local dealership had the new HO Cummins and it is definitely quieter. who would have ever thought that u could talk over a Cummins without yelling???? It sounded nice but seemed to have that old cummnins sound when u got on the pedal. Anyway, i wouldnt trade my PSD for it, i love these PSD's.

I've seen a few of them around also and they sure are quieter, I think about as loud as the Powerstroke. But what an butt-ugly truck!
I think Dodge tried to add too much style to the new Ram. It no longer has that beefy look.
The Super Duty always was and still is the best looking truck out there and nothing sounds as good as the powerstroke. I always look forward to turning the key and hearing it bark to life.

I agree that PSDs are a better engine not to mention the chassis they sit is is superior. If you want to hear something impressive, try starting an old John Deere 730 diesel tractor. They use a gas pony motor as the starter. Once the pony motor gets the engine up to speed, you set the main throttle at about 25% and disengage the compression release. Talk about barking, it literaly go BANG when it fires.
