I took the box off my 1978 Super Camper Special and mounted on the top side of the frame on the drivers side is a plugin?
It looks like a stock mounting and the wiring seems to go into the taillight harrness.
Would it be a plugin for a camper ?
Its a flat plug with 5 female and 1 male.
Kinda looks like one of those little flat trailer plugs.
Its got a bolt through it securing it to the top of the frame.
Its bolted on the top of the frame about a foot behind the cab on the drivers side.
yes...the plug you found is a factory plug...The other end of the harness would have been found in the glove box when the truck was purchased. it is for a slide in camper or a fifth wheel trailer.. you would plug into the wiring harness via the junction you found then ..wire the "loose" end into whatever camper loom that came with the camper/trailer....then when you drop your camper/ trailer you just unplug from the spot you found leaving the loom on your camper/trailer for easy "hook n book" next time your ready to go.
