umm what now?

i just ordered a two stage diablo delta chip from motor haven. well i was browsing through the list of chips found it and added to card ordered check out. then i realized it never asked me about what vehicle the chip was for. so i go back and go back to the list where i added to cart. click details and then notice that ONLY under there will it give you the option to tell what truck and engine you have bla bla bla. so what the hell am i supposed to do now, they can't send me the chip with out knowing what to program it for. it would be nice if someone would fix the web site so this doesn't happen to anywone else but really am what am i supposed to do. just wait for them to catch it and see what happens? isn't the webmaster here supposed to have some sort of affiliation with them, i would be greatful for any help here.

Man you need to relax and doen't take things so seriously! Do you think MotorHaven would have sold thousands of chips if they didn't have a process in place?

The web site isn't broken: In addition to a place in the details box, there's a notes box on the checkout page for putting in any notes about the order. If the customer doesn't fill out either, then they'll email/call you on the phone.

well its been queued for a while now and i haven't heard from them. i, like most people don't appreciate being put on the back burner. theres a reason i ordered when i did i expected to have it in my truck at the end of this week when i will have time to install it and sort everything out. prices and customer service are the two main things i look for when i order from a website, and i have ordered many things at many places on the net. this is the first site that i have ordered something that not only did not catch something that was obviously missing with the order but they have not even contacted me on fixing the situation since i ordered. i don't know about the rest of you but at this point i would be doubting that i would order from the site again at this point. i might becoming off as a jackass but after ordering from many quality sites i hold certain expectations. and when these expectations are not met.....

The person who handles half the phone calls (my wife), took the kids to see their grandmother for the week. Normally not problem there because there are two more of us to handle the phone.

Then yesterday, the person backing up my wife had to leave early due a serious illness of a close family member. When she left, she lets me know it might turn for the worst, and I tell her to take care of family first, its more important than a few orders being a few days late. She calls this morning, understandably distraught, and informed me of the death of the family member. She's going to be gone all week.

Now, there's only one person left to handle the job of three people: me. I'm so swamped just taking messages that I can't even find the time to make outbound calls. Its going to be 18 hour days for the rest of the week for me. Our two part timers are shipping/packing people and have no phone experience. We are still shipping as many orders as possible under the circumstances, but its difficult just to enter them all into the system when you're on the phone the entire day. To their credit, the shipping people got out all the overnight orders out the door and all ground shipments as well, except orders which require drop shipment or calling the customer. I called in a temp late this afternoon to answer the phones but the only thing they can do is take messages because they don't know the business.

My hope is that any reasonable person will understand the situation. The vast majority of the people I've dealt with today have.

How are you a senior user...with 362 posts at the present time and don't know anything about motorhaven?

Ken will take care of you, and I haven't read any other posts where people were so uptight. Things happen as Ken explained, with any business. On my job just last week I had a DOT inspection and I have an exhaust leak. My truck was down for two days. I work for a huge company and my customers had to wait. Nothing we could do, and MOST of them understood.

Ken, sorry to hear about your employee's misfortune, hope all goes well. Oh yeah, I still need to call you about my chip, it's just hard to find the time, with the 3 hour difference.

IMHO, if I have to lose some business so my employees can take care of family, so be it. I'm fortunate that I had an employeer in the past who was just as understanding when my grandmother died. He even paid me during my time off (as I intend to do for my employee).

well i understand the situation perfectly. i have 360+ posts and you seem to think i should automaticly know everything about everyone on this site? i didn't know that the site was a smaller run business. in fact the only thing i knew was that there was some connection between this site and motorhaven. other than that i don't know. im sorry to have come off that way but i was in a bad mood last night, my ram crapped out on me and im having to deal with working overtime myself because so many people quite. so i understand perfectly. sorry bout that.
