T-98 transmission

I bought recently a 4 speed transmission from a 57 ford. It does say T98 on the case. I started cleaning the case and noticed on the left hand side there is a built out support that houses I believe part of the reverse shifter pivot. Well it looks like half of the cast iron support is gone and when I shift it in reverse I notice the pin is loose and moves forward. It looks like the support is part of the cast iron case and I don't know how to repair it.

Question can this cast iron support be repaired or is it doomed?
