I have power to the grid. However, when I run the test light horizontally along the grids, they lose power about two inches in from the left side. All of them seem to to the same thing. That doesn't to make sense.
I didn't spend a lot of time with it, it's not that important but what the heck, if I could fix it easily, I would. I always wondered why it only seems to deforst anything around the edges.
JBronco, my defroster is also out but mine is in the connection where the wires come and attach near the lower part of the window. I was told I could solder it but to make sure not to do it in the Winter since this couse shatter the window. That's all I need. You can buy some etching / liquid solder to repair continuity from an electronic shop or maybe even Radio Shack but I have not done anything with mine for the past 3 years. Actually, not too much buildup over the past few years. Seems like when I was a kid, we had bad weather all Winter. Go figure.
JBronco...I dont know if you have done it yet, but look real close at all the paths. Sometimes breaks in the paths are hard to spot. Since you say it is about 2 inches from the edges and all the way down, sounds like you may have had something in the window seal at one time that dragged across the paths and cut them as the window was being lowered or raised. You can get repair kits for window defrosts from your local auto parts store.
FCarruth... Its called glodal warming...WE'RE ALL GONNA FRY!!!! AHHHHHH
