dash pad repair
I have a dash pad that has cracked in 2 places. There is only one at the wreckers that is anywhere near good and the aftermarket ones are more than they are worth. I am going to try the following and would appreciate any experiences or suggestions.
Where the cracks have formed the vinyl has peeled upward so I thought if I cut back on both sides of the crack and filled flush with a waterproof poly filla (marine type) I could glue a cover over top. My main concern is the old vinal lifting and showing through the new. Any other ideas? I have the pad out and am preparing to paint the interior so any mods unusual ideas about dashpads and greatly appreciated.
It is currently dark green soon to be black and charcoal.
