Higher RPM after mods?

Higher RPM after mods?
I am using the SCMT and have installed a 4" exhaust system with a Mac intake. I noticed after the mods that at 70mph I am running about 300-400 more rpms. Is this normal? The 2000X sure seems to breathe easier but will the higher rpm's cost me gas milage? Also the EGT's after the turbo seem to be at 480-500 at the same speed, is this about right? Thanks for the responses.

The higher RPMs will indeed cost you on mileage. If you go too much over 1900 or 2000 rpms, for example 2200 or even 2100 you won't be getting great mileage. From what I gather, your RPMs should be the same, just with a little more power at whatever range. I'm not sure about the EGTs seeing as I myself don't have gauges, but if anything, they should be lower.

The SCMT does change tranny shifting a little bit but I don't think that the rpm's should be any different. Did you try returning it to stock and seeing if the rpm's go back to normal?? If so then it sounds like a programmer glitch. I had a SCMT for a while and saw no difference in rpm's either way - higher or lower.

still searching
I tried returning the program to stock last night and still no difference. I read the dtc code and found (p0603 Internal Ctrl Mod KAM error) whatever that is. So I cleared it with the SCMT and still no change. When I got home I read the dtc codes again and p0603 was there again. Does anyone know what this is? I really think I must have some sort of trans. or torque converter problem because I am noticing a kick in the rear when shifting at low speed in the first two gears. I really don't know. Again the truck seems to run fine except now all of the sudden I am running about 2300 rpm at 70 mph when I used to run 2100 at the same speed. Still need help. Thanks in advance!!!
