The 351 will bolt up fine to your aod, provided that it's a windsor block. If you are going from a 302 - 351 you will need to change exhaust, (351 taller and wider), radiator hoses, possibly the water outlet on the manifold, motor mounts will be the same, distributor, acc brackets, P/S, Alt, etc... When I did my swap, I used the 302 alt bracket, it's a little tight around the bypass hose, but it doesn't kink it. I also used that big *** plate that mounts the p/s, and a/c. The upper pivot bolt will not line up on a 351, the bolt lines up with the freeze plug. I bought a pivot bracket from jamesduff.com ($26 including shipping) to fix this. If you want to go the crate motor route, look at jegs.com or summitracing.com, they will be cheaper than your local dealership, or autozone.
Good Luck

If you know someone who races Fords, dirt track or drag strip, they can usually get you some killer prices from Ford Racing on crate engines. Most of your local guys who race Ford, have a pretty good hook up with an SVO dealer. I get parts from a dirt track racer who sells them to me at SVO dealer cost.
Just be careful and read the fine print. The crate motors that summit sell's like the 302, say in fine print- NOT FOR SPEED DENSITY SYSTEMS OR E4OD TRANSMISSION'S. Just a little something to keep in the back of your head while shopping.

I had a 302 in my 88 bronco and swaped a 351w in last summer. I found a wrecking yard 351w will low miles on it so I would get everything i needed. you will need a flexplate from a early 80's crown victoria that had the 351/aod combo. if you start with a long block, you will need the following 351w distributor, upper & lower intake, oilpan. you can use the accessory brackets off of a 302 just fine i did and everything lined up perfect. you can use the 302 wire harness
