Speedometer is Shakey/E-150

Speedometer is Shakey/E-150

94 E-150 351, 108k miles. Speedo needle vibrates back and forth slightly at higher speeds. When I enable cruise control, car surges and slows to the movement of the speedo needle. Any ideas?

Bad cable? sending unit?

There's no cable, it's an e;ectronic speedo.

Replace the speed sensor mounted on top of the differential (assuming the wiring is OK). Note that NAPA applications all showed a mechanical, transmission mounted unit. Had to hit the dealer for this one.
