98 Explorer Turn Signal/Flasher Problem

I recently removed my instrument cluster to diagnose a problem with my fuel gauge. When I replaced it, the right turn signal would not work at all. When I turned on the emergency flashers, only the left side flashed - RF and RR were totally dead. After playing around with fuses, everything started to work perfectly. A few days later, the right side is totally dead. Bulbs are all fine. Multifunction switch was replaced about a year ago for other reasons.

98 Explorer Turn Signal/Flasher Problem

I haven't determined what causes it, but I can fix the problem by adjusting the steering column angle. Go figure!

I would back track on what you did with the I.cluster. Maybe not take it all of the way out, but I would guess you have either a loose or shorted wire. This may have happened when you had to move the wheel down and wires around to get to the cluster. It may just be something loose since it works when you tilt the wheel. You may even want to start at or around the ignitions switch and connectors. Just some thoughts.
