10K mod using different resistors?

I bought the stuff I need for the mod today. I am going with a finished resistance of 5.6K but the radio shack didn't have the 5.6k resistors in stock. INstead I purchased some 2.2K resistors and some 1.2K resistors. If I put 2 of the 2.2k and 1 of the 1.2k in series they should produce 5.6k of resistance. I think. I am not very experienced with resistors but this sounds right to me. Anyone know if this sounds right?????

Thanks for the reply. I wasn't thinking but I guess I can grab my Fluke and read the resistance of the final product before installation.

It would be a lot easier to just buy a variable potentiometer and hook it up, you could then start out at 15000 ohms and dial it down to whatever you wanted while driving. I hooked up one and it worked great as long as I didn't go too low, if I went too low on resistance, I got a check engine light.
