I recently did a carfax on a truck (96 PSD) that I looked at and it came up that the title had an odometer discrepancy. Carfax called Not Actual Mileage title. Has anyone had any experience in this? I talked the dealer and he says that the previous owner knew nothing about it when he called him. I am having him fax me a copy of the title to see for myself because the dealer says that there is nothing there. The dealer also said went out and drove the truck and then returned ans said that it worked (digital) as well as he said that he had his mechanics (Ford dealership) check it out and they found nothing.
Should I stay away or proceed cautiously depending on what the title actually says. I wish I could talk the previous owner myself but I doubt the dealer is aloud to give out that info.
Thanks for any advice.
Chris

Reason: add info
This is an interesting one. Can't say I have a answer for you, but it might be worth digging into a little further. You might get a good truck for a little less cash. BTW my father has a 96 PSD 4X4. I told him it was time to update, and he said "no way, best truck I've ever owned" . He's 60 and this is the 6th Ford truck he's had.
