Factory Sound System

I'm looking for opinions and advice on the stock system in the 2004 Escape XLT. Does anyone else have what sounds like bad reception/too much crackling with their receiver when listening to the radio. It seems like the louder and harder the song is the more I'm getting that crackling sound. I would dismiss it to a bad signal, but it seems to be on a lot of stations. Also, does anyone have trouble with their bass response? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Does it only do that in radio mode or do you have that cracky noise problem with a cd also?
I wasn't fond of the escapes radio reception.

My moms escape does the same

My mom just purchased a '05 escape with the Mach audio system in it and it does do this poor bass response thing. I thought it was a blown speaker, but I think it is a rattle in the door. Try appling pressure over the speaker and it tends to help.
