Only had my truck a few months so I'm not sure if this is normal, but if I drive more than a few miles when I turn the truck off and get out I hear some crackling noises (especially on a hot day). Almost sounds like my Rice Krispy's in the morning. Obviously something is heating up. Just wondering if anyone knew the cause and if there is concern.
Be very careful with this one. It is condensation hitting your heat shield but before it hits it it runs down the #6 injector. Which after a while will cause a short and it will have to be replaced.
FortyFords:
I apologize for giving you the wrong number, the ac condensation will drip on or run over #4 injector. I know of 2 times that this has happened, and replacement was necessary. But it could bypass it as easily as it hits it I guess. Just something to watch for.
The popping noises you are hearing are from your exhaust system and related thin metal parts. As your system heats up, these metal parts such as the pipes, muffler and heat shields expand so the noises you are hearing is the metal returning back to it's original form. It's all normal.

Thanks JS
I know we have had in the past a problem with the heater hose leaking on the coil packs and causing a problem !
