2004 Explorer - Weird Startup Noise
I have a 2004 Explorer with 4000 miles and a V8. Recently I have had a weird grinding noise in the steering column whenever I start the truck when the engine is cold and the outside temperature is under 45 degrees. If I start it on a warm engine, I never hear this noise. I was trying to think of a better way to describe it, but it really sounds like a grinding noise in the steering column or dashboard directly after the engine starts. It does not seem to be coming from the engine compartment. I was curious as to whether anyone with the 02 - 04 explorers hase had this sound occur.
