[QUOTE=Hayapower!] we JUST WANT OUR MONEYS WORTH!! and for Ford to get them straightened out, or replace them,.. If you haven't had any problems "GREAT", but for those that do (like the Turbo Drone/Main leaks ect.) or worse,, don't blame it on being just being a diesel.. QUOTE]

i was speaking mainly of the "drone" so many here complain about..and vibration of course, which i think is the same problem, or at least related. i cannot totally isolate it, as many people describe the same thing entirely different....

i have a slight vibration as well, right in the 1500-1600 range... but it is sooooooooooo slight, i cannot understand how someone could let that bother them. all light duty trucks with medium duty diesels have the same problems! i have driven MANY a duramax when i worked at the chevy dealer.... if it is an escalade smooth ride and drive feeling you want, buying a truck meant to do work is the wrong vehicle for you. it will NEVER happen.

as for the leaks, stalling, smoking, poor mpg claims, i would be as ****ed as anyone! but exhaust drone, and very slight vibration you can only feel in your feet at a very narrow rpm band....c'mon!

why doesn't anyone complain that the truck shakes and vibrates at idle??? fear of public ridicule maybe?

Just IMO...
The 04 6.0's are pretty much straightened out. I have an 04 with 9800 miles and no problems, no funny sounds, ect. Runs great. In response to the original thread...
Get a crew cab, long wheelbase Ford. The new 04's are very reliable, and I can assure you Ford TRUCK build quality is superior to Nissan and Toyota. Under hard use, they WILL last longer. Go take a survey of people that have heavy use work trucks and find what they use. As for the Allison transmission, I believe the Torqshift is just as good, if not superior, to the Allison. The Allison, granted, was far superior to the old E4OD's, but with the Torqshift's tow mode and its "brains" (FYI the new tranny is really SMART, it has adapted to my driving style perfectly. I am amazed, no other tranny, including the Allison, will do that) make it, IMO, a better transmission. As for fuel mileage, in my experience, I have gotten slightly over 20 mpg on longer trips. Granted, I rarely ever tow anything, and I cannot tell you about the mileage pulling a load, MY truck (i have heard some are not so hot, but anyways) will get 20 driving normally out on the highway, and i can still maintain over 13 (usually 13.5,13.6) driving like a bat out of hell around town.

I will once again reinterate the fact that what I just told you is from MY experience of MY truck, in MY opinion, and I'm sure alot of people's differ drastically.

And yes, I am totally 100% satisfied about the vehicle, in terms of performance, luxury, ride quality, handling, and efficiency.

Love my rig too..

My Suzuki HAYABUSA 1300 has the capability of going 200MPH!! , if you have the "stones" to go there!! I have NO confidence problem with it.. With,, no vibration, oil seal leaks, and the quality of fit and build is outstanding.. My truck makes me smile just the same, only my thinking here is...if it rolls of the line, and has a problem....fix it!!.. IMMEDIATELY.. if you can't with "current" parts and technology, just give me a new one!! I don't want anyone elses product, and I don't know of anyone that doesn't like these trucks.. But,, three of us bought new ones in "two weeks" time.. 2 of us had problems, (not good odds) and one of these is an 04!! The 04 has a "REALLY" mean Turbo Bark, and the owner is pretty upset that its there.. Sounds like a POS.. It wasn't there when he bought the truck, I know I drove it before buying mine.. The power of "total satifaction" is in Fords hands.. If they do find a cure for my "Drone" (which is not slight!!) then I'll post a picture with the wall to wall smile..........

I'm completly satisfied with my 06/03 4x4 CC SWD F-350. Still original flash as delivered in July and currently I have 21,000 miles on it (8000 miles of towing a 10K trailer) without one problem what so ever. No leaks, no drone, or any other issues that have plagued some of the trucks. Just love it!!

now, your talking about a 6.0L, and then putting import quality in the same paragraph...since they offer nothing even slightly comparable, i do not understand how they entered the picture.

at any rate, manyt people are expecting that since they paid 40+k for a truck, it should be like an escalade.....you cannot tow 13,000lbs with an escalade... the best is the "terrible vibration" type posts, those crack me up! or slight exhaust drone....in a damned DIESEL! like they dont vibrate?? WTF were they expecting?

as far as reliability goes, my truck has been totally satisfactory. i am still very happy with my purchase.
also, just to show how good they are, seems like every buy back i have heard about on this site and others, the owners went and got a ANOTHER SD 6.0!!!!!!!

if they were really a POS, why would the owners get another?

don't let a couple cry babies that have no clue what a real truck is, one that can actually be used as a truck deter you from a purchase. is it a lexus? NO! it will have wind noise, ride stiff as he!!, bounce you all over the place, have a turning radius of a school bus.....but it can also haul a 40' fith wheel up a 8% grade @ 80mph, haul 5k worth of crap in the bad....and still spin the tires doing either

anyhoo, do alot of research, as it appears you are doing before you make a decision.

good luck either way!
WOW.. Take a breadth, sounds like a good day to quit caffeine

GM and Ford both make that truck.

My 6.0 has been an almost total disappointment to me. I'd rate it as very unreliable and a poor performer.

Just looked at the latest sales numbers for March and ford has been selling a lot of trucks. People haven't given up on ford. That superduty will go down in history as one of the greatest trucks ever built. Stick with ford I am.
