Sunroof

I have a 2002 Explorer Sport. I would like to have a sunroof installed, but I would like to have Ford Install one of theirs because i want it to retract into the roof. Is this possible? If no one understands I can explain. Thanks.

I have a 2002 but its not a sport... but Ford installed mine and it does go into the roof..

Why Not? I have a 98 with that(OEM) Ford will do that. They'll do anything.....for a Price$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Mine was around 1100.00 if I remember correctly.

Well I called my dealer and they could only tell me what like the glass and track could cost. Then I called a local place that does them and they said $1250. So I guess i'll have to call some other dealers. Do you guys have any leaking problems? I know that this is usually a problem when it's not done during assembly.

I think a lot of dealers actually outsource companies to install aftermarket sunroofs. Go to a dealer and ask who installs the sunroof and get some references from that company once you get the information.

96Ex is right. I doubt any dealers install sunroofs, they all shop them out to local companies. Check in the Yellow Pages, there will likely be a number of shops. Oftentimes the shops also do sound systems, DVDs, etc as well as sunroofs. The dealer gets a discount from the outsourcers and then marks it up and virutally does nothing. My wife got a retractable sunroof put in her van and it came with a lifetime warranty. So far, and 3 years later, no problems at all. They did a very professional job.
