I am going to be purchasing a 2000 super duty truck when they come out. Does anyone know when you can start to put orders in for the 2000 models? I would assume pretty soon now. Also, has anyone heard of anything they plan to change in 2000?
I ordered a 2000 F-250 SuperDuty Lariat this week.
The only major change I saw was that ABS is std.
on XLT and Lariat. Also, the Lariat option
includes several options which were seperate in
1999.

Depending on plant they will start builting them on 7-25-99 or 8-16-99 for year 2000, good luck on yours I'm happy with my 1999! Can't help on order date.
My 1999 order placed in early March was re-entered as a 2000 model (which was what I wanted) the third week of May. I have a VIN and a scheduled build date of 8/2/99. I hope to have the truck on 8/16/99!
US and Canada Super Duties are only built in Louisville KY at the Ford Truck Plant north east of town. Job 1 for the 2000's is said to be 7/19/99, but I've not herd anything new could be sooner with the Excursion having already launched (6/7/99).
Yep, the first build order is 7/19/99, but it COULD be ealier with the new Excursion being built. All current orders now taken are dated as Build-Year 2000.
Changes include: Standard 4-wheel ABS on XLT and Lariat, fixed cruise-control cables (The old ones sometimes stuck on gasoline engines only, not allowing the cruise to disengage. You may want to bring this issue up with your dealer, as this problem is extremely dangerous), an option to lower the rear ride stance for 4 Wheel Drive (In the 1999 series, the bed was too high in 4WD's for 5th-wheel trailer towing), and of course, a new pallet of colors (I'm not sure what will be new, I sure hope they keep the Auburn [Orange]!).
The Super-Duty's are great trucks, and now they're even better. Have fun with yours.
My salesman told me that Ford increased the price for the 2000's by 3 to 4%. Thats another 1000 bucks! So, your not going to get that 4 wheel ABS for free.
YO CHRISR
I have had a super duty on order since the second week of february. It was a 1999 of course, but just last week my dealer told me it got canceled and the order was resubmitted for a 2000. This would lead me to believe that you can order one now.
The truck i have ordered is an XLT crew cab diesel 4x4 offroad. It is now promised to me by august thirty-first. I hope you can get a faster delivery.
good luck
MEAT
The 2000 did have a price encrease but if you had your order in before the price change FORD WILL HONOR IT, if they give you a song and dance ask to talk to the district rep, don't let them put you off good luck

Avatar,
You mention an option here. Is this an option to get the oft mentioned 4" blocks or 2" blocks? I haven't heard of this option before. Where did you see this option?
I was talking to my dealer just yesterday, he looked up in his 2000 ordering guide to see what has changed. One of the biggest things is the engines, the 5.4 V-8 is increased to 260hp., and the 6.8 V-10 has been increased to 290hp. He also said there were a few other "minor" changes like the instrument panel is slightly different, the spare tire and rear bumper are also now standard and of course, the ABS change.
I just ordered a 2000 250 SD today. I was told to expect November delivery, but that is probably because I am taking delivery in Guam. I got the Lariat with V-10, auto, towing package, towing mirrors, and 3.73 LS.
