I bought a '65 F250 back in October for home projects, i.e. hauling crap. The truck is in great shape. Lately I have been seeing these awesome trucks(61-66) all over the place. I have seen 5 within a few blocks of my house in the last two weeks(one is a Flareside for sale). Anyway, I was wondering if there might be a way to get a gathering of 1961-1966 truck owners together sometime soon. I always have questions that need answered about my truck.
Hey Patrick, I'm across the river in Vancouver. I'd be in on that. I'm not sure if we could get a good turnout of Portland area, it would probably have to be between here and Seattle. That would be fun though. I love seeing nice "farm trucks"
I have a notice that there will be the 8th annual ramage ford truck run on August 14 at Ocean Shores, Wa. I have never been to this, but I think that there is a link on the events part of this sight.
I guess there will be a lot of us at the gigantic swap meet at Portland Expo this weekend. Never been before myself, but my big bro is gonna guide me around. Maybe lightning will strike in the form of a set of rims more appealing than the splitrims now keeping my '66 off the ground. The way gas prices are going, the only people who'll be able to afford to meet will be Falcon drivers.
Guys there is an announcement that there will be state clubs in the state section. Club leaders will be placed, sounds like a grand idea. You should be able to see the announcement at the top of the page.
Just came back from the swap meet last night, and didn't know the admission price before, but anyway, it's $7. I understand that on Sunday, the closing day (tomorrow), admission will be $4. The show closes Sunday, and is open 'til 7 today (Sat) and 4 p.m. on Sunday. This is a great show! Hundreds of vehicles and projects for sale, and many, many parts. I toured outside vendors from 9 a.m. 'til 3 p.m., then had about 1/2 hour in one of the three inside venues before I was just plain "walked out" for the day. A person could probably find any part they needed. I picked up a PS box and pump for my '66, and a set of 8-lug rims. My nephew got an assortment of Falcon chrome and shopped Rancheros. The show is at the expo center out on Marine Drive, and the parking is not good. my nephew, a young feller, dropped me at the gate, then parked about 3/4 mile away and hoofed it in. There's also remote parking with shuttle buses. my Big Bro told me the parking was about $10. There are boys on the grounds with wagons to shlep your heavy buys to a gate for $5. Good luck.
Hi little Bro....went south yesterday....awesome weather for a meet....I have a question though...you said it closed Sunday at 4, did you see this on a flyer or by word of mouth? Reason I ask is I went down and when I got there it turns out that it closed at 1, so needless to say that was the FASTEST parts shopping I have ever done....only had 30-45 minutes, but I did get a couple things though, best of all though no admission @!!!!! LOL
I did see some nice rigs out there....ahhhhhhhhh Spring has sprung

BTW, I too am up for a get together of us truck guys....let me know when and where and Im there.......
Profound regrets for my misinformation on the closing time of the meet on Sunday. The 4 p.m. time was given to me by the wagon boy who hauled my booty out to the gate. Maybe he was assuming from the last year, when he also worked. Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't a total loss. My big bro told me there's a nice swap meet in Albany in November that he likes. He has a Ford collection including '66 F250, '40 Ford coupe, and a yard full of Falcons, so he's got the right outlook on vehicles.
No problem lil bro, stuff happens As to the meet in Albany, when is that gonna be, if its not too far I'd love to go to an all Ford meet...
Ya, I also saw a 66 the guy drove Sun as he sold the other car the day before as I recall.....nice beast, not perfect, but a good workhorse nonetheless ....
Thanks for letting others know about the meet ...much appreciated
Hey guys, sorry I haven't chimed in since I started this thread, but as usual I'm too busy with too many projects. Anyway, I'm glad that some of you made it out to the swap meet. I unfortunately didn't make it. I still would love to get a gathering of these old trucks sometime in the near future. If anyone has a date and place that might work, feel free to make a suggestion. I just wanted to ask, hey Garbz, what did you mean by "check at Slick 60's" ?
Is that a local group?
This coming weekend at P.I.R.(Portland International Raceway)will be the first of thier summer swapmeets. I plan on heading out in my '65 F250 to see what it's all about. I think it's $3 to get in. I believe that the gate opens at 9am.
