2001 CD player woes

My F 150 CD player rejects CD's and prints " Bad Disc" Is there any way to clean the unit, reset it ? If I insert the CD multiple times, it will eventually play.Thanks, Jeff.

mind does that too...it also makes a noise before ejecting cd.

If you are playing a clean factory disc, it may mean your laser pickup is dying. I guess I'd get one of those cleaner discs; might help.

I have the same problem in my 2001 ranger. I guess it's time for a better stereo. Does anyone make a system that fits nicely in the hole we have?

similar situation

I have a 2001 Expedition. When I try to play discs in the 6 disc changer, it reads "empty mag". Any solutions?

I have done that cleaning thing and mines still wont play, I have a 97 F150 w/stock 6 disk CD player, I hate to put it out to pasture but it will play then stop playing and give me a bad massage like no cd.

What is up with that?
