I have a 96 Ranger Splash (4x2, 3.0L Auto). It's making a funny squeeling/clicking noise when I shift into drive (or any of the forward gears).
It soudns like it is coming from the front half of the truck, but I can't just get outside to take a listen since I don't want my truckl to drive away.
It does not apear to change in frequency with the engine speed... seems constant
Park, Reverse, and Neutral are not affected. It is most noticable when I'm idling, but I think that this is only because there is less wind/engine noise to drown it out.
very cool that you found it..... always good to have some wheel chaulks.... even some blocks of wood so you can chaulk your tires and listen to your car in drive........ congrats.... gotta hate when you have annoying stupid problems like that haha
