Every so often I will look at the shifter and the overdrive light is flashing.
I then shut the pickup off and restart it. The light will stay off for a few days. Has anyone ever heard of this? The truck runs and drives fine I just think it's weird.
Thanks
PS I do have a programmer and I can't find anything in the codes.
If it starts flashing while you are driving, most of the time it is indicating the tran temp is getting high. However, it will also flash if there is a problem with the tranny. Does it flash empty or when you are towing? I have had mine flash a couple times empty when it was 95+ degrees, cresting the top of a hill stopped by the time I was half way down the other side.
It has been flashing empty and I have been driving in town. Never on the interstate or when towing something. Thanks for the info I'll have it looked into.
Cheers
When it flashes, do you notice that the tranny shifts kind of hard between gears? Mine did that and I took it to the dealer. The problem turned out to be a stuck shift solenoid. My tranny has never flashed loaded or empty.
Get it flashing and take it to an autozone or advance auto parts they will pull the codes for free, most tranny shops will also. If it is driving fine i bet your t/c is fine. Maybe be a shift selonoid. Is your speedometer working correctly? Are the shift points normal?
