Has anyone had the ac fix done? Got my EB back today, after the fix, and am not too happy. I live in Fla., and with my ac setting at 70, the temp inside the car was 82 (checked with a digital thermometer)and the temp at the vent was 60. The only way to get colder vent temps was to drop the setting to 65. Anyone else have a similiar problem?
Also waiting for the new rear axle, BO until after 4/6. I did have the brake pads repl. today under warr. (16000 mls). Also have rattles in the doors that the service adv claims he could'nt hear.
My truck has been in the shop for 7 days in the last 2 weeks, and I have more problems than when I arrived.
I get a kick out of the service advisors that ask you to fill out the survey with excellent marks when you have more problems than you began with.
If the vent temp was 60, and the inside temp was 82, and the setting was70, sounds to me like the auto temp was trying to do its job. if air temp out of the vents was cooler than the setting, and inside of the vehicle is warmer than the setting it's working. As far as rattles, sometimes they are hard to find. I suggest taking the service manager for a ride yourself and point them out.I have had a few door panels rattle under the right conditions. Sounds like you have gotten a good deal, ford wont replace the pads on any vehicle under warranty for dust sometimes the dealer just eats it. Also the way ford scores your dealer with the serveys suck. Here's how it works, there are 4-5 catgories. Excellent, being the top score if you don't mark excellent, we get an f basically. In all reality, its a pass or fail scoring.Thats why they ask you to mark the excellent catagory. Still your decision.
Well I dont know what your complaint was to the dealer when you brought it in, but if you described the problem just as the TSB words it, then they applied the TSB fix and that was it. If you had stated the AC does not cool enough at all times then that would have initiated a complete AC diagnosis. Be aware however that the customer must familiarize himself with the correct operation of an EATC system and just because it doesnt perform to your expectations doesnt necessarily mean there is a problem. I can often boil down to a misunderstanding of how it is designed to work. Unfortunately sometimes the owners manuals can be pretty vague and its up to sales persons or technical personnel to set the customer straight on the operation.
If you dont get satisfactory AC performance during all driving conditions then be specific with the service writer just what you expect and what you are getting. The service writer is the technicians voice for the customer and if he doesnt relay to the tech what the customers true concern is, a failure to communicate will likely result in a failed diagnosis or unable to duplicate concern.
