Will I need to get my chip re-burned if I put 4:11's in my truck. I'm going to be lifting it and putting on 35's. To make up for that, I'm going to 4:11's instead of 3:73's.
Tony- i beleieve -yes- i had 33's on my 01 dodge ram with 4-10s and wished i 'd went 4-56's - unless you do alot of highway driving i'd go up from 4-10's- i know 4-30is a 3/4 ton gear- 35's weigh abit and reciprocating mass takes more power than dead mass- that truck will look bad with 35's what list ya goin with?-phil
Phil, yeah, I've heard that I should probably go with 4:56's. I went on Randy' ring and pinion to do the comparison and if I go with the 4:11's it will be taching the same, but you think I'll probably need more power to turn them?
Probably going to go with a Fabtech 6" lift and ProComp Xterrains tires.
even though it was dodge -and gearing in tranny will be different- i turned a shade under 2000 rpms in od with the 33's and 4-10's
when i ran the 1/4- i just got into 3rd at the line under wot-like i said thge reciprocating mass is what kills ya-a 35 and a 17x10 or 16x10[even aluminum- gotta be around 50lbs apiece- you'll really appreciate the extra gearing off road-my .02$
If you want the speedo corrected for any amount its off, yes, it will need reprogramming (considered custom code). Reprogramming for different tire sizes won't change the power from the chip.
