Unhappy Please help dont know what to do!

Hey guys I have a 1993 ford F150 witha 300 streight six (4.9L) it have a 5speed manual tranny behind it with 3.55 gears. I sometimes rip and tear on the truck and seems to wheelhop alot. Hw can i get it to stop wheelhopping? Also another thing is from me ripping on it the tranny when you hit the gas you can watch the sifter mover tordg the passengerside about 3inches then when you let off it comes back. Why is it moving so much back and forth? It seems to me like the whole tranny and transfercase is moving under their. Please let me know if you can make a extra mount to help hold everything from twisting. Does you guys trucks twist liek that? Also If not what could be wrong with mine to let it do this?
thanks,
jimmy

Well if your mounts are bad the motor and trans could twist side to side. I would check the mounts make there there not broken. A cheep fix for the wheel hop is to drive nomal but if your unable to do this you could get some traction bars that will help with the wheel hop.

Yep, broken motor mount. Been there, done that. The mounts changed somewhere around late 93/early 94, so it's best to pull the old one before hitting the parts store. The later style is more expensive, but neither is that bad. If you frequently dog it, you might consider adding a chain from the engine to the frame with just a little slack in it to keep the torque from busting the mount, but this may push the breakage "on down the line" , like to the u-joints, clutch, rearend, or most likely the Mazda 5-speed that wasn't made for that kind of abuse. Before getting traction bars, I'd first check the condition of the shocks. A good set might not get rid of the wheel hop, but it should minimize it if your current set is worn out.

I get some wheelhop also. I know my shocks are toast. I have found that like they said, the best way to avoid the wheel hop is to run it easy. Im waiting on my new shocks for when I get my lift.
