Any body know how to make the galvinized fender supports look new again??? I am talking about the pannels under the hood that holds the battery support and windshield wiper fluit tank. I dont want to paint them. mabey some kind of acid treatment?
hmm, well, the paint is probably gone in some areas due to the battery being there corroding it. why don't you want to paint it?just get a wire wheel and a can of brush on por15. its no big deal
i asked this question a few weeks ago and didnt get a reply. i am restoring my 79 f 150 4x4. i was wondering whats the best way to make the galvanised pannels under the hood look new again? i am talking about the ones that hold the battery tray and wipper fluid tank. an y ideas thanks rick
I have just done the same thing I took them out, wire wheeled them sanded with a 6" electric orbital sander with 60 grit disk's.Then I painted them with Rust Coat(ALKYD)Flat black paint,spray bomb.Wow what a difference.
