About a 9 months ago I bought my first truck that could really haul anything worth while - an 2001 F350 CC PSD short bed. Unfortunately, it was in a wreck. A major wreck. A wreck that bent the frame on both the left and right sides. (see http://www.chetcromer.com/ford/wreck) And the insurance company decided to total it. Because of the good deal I got on the truck and all the extras it had, I was able to get the same truck, except a year newer and a long-bed, instead... So at least the story had a happy ending.
My question is this. My old truck had an electric trailer braker setup installed in it that I really got used to pulling a 10000# dump trailer. Now that spring is finally coming around again, it's time to load it up again and I need to get a new brake controller. From what I've read, I probably have a hookup under my dash on the driver's side where a brake controller plugs into; is this pretty much standard on F350's? If so, what I'm imagining is all I need to buy is the controller, which brings me to question #2...
I'm also looking for recommendations and ideas on which brake system to go with - Reese, Prodigy, etc.
Reese is good, Prodigy is a little better. Can't go wrong with either. I perfer a inertia base instead of timer base though. Per. pref. Your truck should have the plug.
