Because the last clevlands were built in the early 70s, I beleive they were discontinued in 72. Also, no cleveland engine made it into a truck, they are a short stroker hot rod motor, not a low end torque grunt like our windsors.

Is youre truck fuel injected? Clevelands never were. Unless someone went way out of their way to completely remove the fuel injection system, and bypass youre computer, and drop in a new block, you have a Windsor.

Clevelands were bad-a$$ in cars. But yeah, you had to get the revs up. My buddy had a 67 fastback Stang in high school with a very rare 351 Boss engine out of a 71 (I think).
Once that thing got going it ran like the proverbial bat outta he!!. He wrapped it around a telephone pole in the early 1980s. as far as I know he still has that rare motor and the toploader but the body was trashed.

I can't recall ever seeing a truck with a 351C, they usually had 302's or 390's. Did Ford ever put a 351C in a stock truck?

I didn't know if the you counted the Ranchero or not. To me, I think of it as a car.

BTW - in case anyone is interested, here is a link to some info about the Boss 351 motor. I was right, it was 1971. Not too many people are aware of this rare, one year production run only motor. We had never heard of it either until my buddy had a Ford expert run some numbers. We always wondered why that car was so dang fast. My buddy also worked as an airplane refueler, and he would always fill the car up with av-gas. I can remember the car not being very torquey, but once the revs got up, it was like an afterburner!
