What engine/tranny do I have
I just inherited my grandfather's '73 F-100. Been doing a little work here and there to bring it up to par. Been real fun, and EXPENSIVE! Anyway, my grandpa had switched out the engine/transmission a loooong time ago. I know the engine is a 302 2v, and I know the tranny has Overdrive (which the original did not have given the fact that my "gear indicator" above the steering wheel does not show OD, and the needle lines up halfway between N and D when Im in OD). Is there any way I can tell for certain what year truck this engine/tranny came from? It makes it somewhat difficult when replacing engine parts when you dont know exactly what you have. I ran into this problem when i went to replace the fuel pump. Thanks....
