You have helped me very well....THANK YOU ALL.....However I am looking for tips on keeping my "87" Bronco (new to me) running, towing and THE GOOD TIMES running well. Let me tell you something about it (don't know much) it's a 302 with an electric 4X4 (push button) automatic hubs, Automatic transmisson (not sure) and a 8.8 3.55 rear ( just replaced a wheel bearing).
Looks like it has never had any fun (It"s about to have a new life).....by the way it has 165,000 miles on it......no smoke
Congrats on the purchase. Was this a private sale, or from a dealer? Do you know when all of the fluids were last changed? Whenever I have received a "new" vehicle, I always change all fluids, and give it a tune up. You will need to test the transfer case and auto hubs. I will warn you now, the auto hubs are crap....no matter what a couple of the guys here who like them tell you, they WILL break. Hope to see some pictures of her in youre gallery.
I agree with wheel on this and congratulations on your "new" ride. I had auto hubs on my truck and they crapped out on me in the winter. Got manual hubs and never looked back. Good luck.....
Yeah, check your auto hubs BEFORE you go 4 wheeling. Especially since the truck looks to have been used mostly on the road. I'll bet that the auto hubs do not work.
