ESOF

Have many of you had problems with ESOF? Was at the coast and could not get 4WD to engage with ESOF. I hear the vacuum pump when I turn the ignition and my heat is working fine. Any ideas?

On my 99, the vacuum line came loose from it's mount and touched the exhaust. Once melted, nothing worked. I've heard that there were other problems with the 99 hubs. You didn't state what year the truck is, but the dealer should be able to upgrade the hubs. All I can say is that the manual over-ride was the smartest thing they ever did.

It is a '99. I did wind up using the manuals. I just hate paying the extra $$ for something that will not work. I'll check those vacuum lines. Thanks.

My hubs wouldn't lock in and I found out the connector on the solonoid valve wasn't pushed on all the way. The valve is located on the passenger side fender. If my memory serves me right, it has two vacuum lines and a connetor with two wires going to it. If you can't find it, just follow the vacuum lines from the hubs up to the tank and then to the valve.
