'01 X PSD - Tranny Gone
I have a 2001 X, 7.3L PSD with 53,000 miles on it. As the transmission tried to shift from 2nd to 3rd, it felt like the transmission was slipping. It was towed to the Ford dealer and they are telling me that the Intermediate One-Way Clutch is out, transmission fluid it burnt & debris inside the tranny.
Has this ever happened to anyone? 50k miles seems very early for a transmission to go out (engine is stock with no chips/mods).
Any words of wisdom would be appreciated...

In that case it may have been abused. Becuase it's clean, doesn't mean it was in perfect mechanical shape. Someone may have towed alittle more than the 10,000 lb. rating. That and they may have neglected some of the most important mantenance points.
