Question on radio

The radio, well original radio in my 69 f100 has been replaced. Some speakers are wired in a makeshift way and just lying on the floor, i figured original speakers should have been in the doors , but after looking, i could obviously tell they werent. So my question is, where were speakers put originally? The dash maybe?

Yes....One lonely speaker in the dash is all there was. This was way back before Touchscreens and DVD/PS2s in your dash with 15 speakers in all kinds of places. haha

That speaker will be right in the middle of the dash between the two defroster vents. Check it out.

You may want to think about using fiberglass and some low profile speakers and making kickpanels. The parking brake may interfere with the drivers side pod, using the lowest profile speakers you can find and placing the speaker in a spot where the brake won't interfere may be possible I believe. (I am putting in a 9" midbass, 6.5" midrange and a 3" tweeter in each side, and relocating the brake to the center between bucket seats, yeah im extreme I know)

Advantages to using kickpanels is you won't need to cut holes in your doors or anything, but still have good stereo sound.
