Did 10k mod tonight and loved the pwr difference.
Only thing is I got a wierd knocking noise upon accelleration.
I also got a check engine lite.
Whats up with that.
Pulled 10k back off for now. Truck is a 2003 7.3

You need to check the codes to see what may have set the "light". I haven't heard of any "knocking" due to the 10k mod. There may be another problem that was aggravated by the the 10k mod. Let us know what you find. LOL

Sometimes the check engine light will come on if the ICP plug isn't making a good connection after doing the mod. I usually strip the wires then braid 3-4 strands together and cut off the excess strands so the wire is super thin then plug it in.
Not sure about the knocking noise though??

I should have stated the 10k mod I used was the 1 with the diodes in it. The knocking & light would happen on hard throttle. Light would go off after shutting off truck and restarting.
I'm getting ready to do the other mod with just the 10k resistor and see what
happens.

I'm curious why you would use a diode to do this mod?? It doesn't matter which way the current flows through the resistor to get resistance so using a diode doesn't make sense. I know if you use a lower value resistor, it will idle rougher but give more power.

I believe from what I have read that it can be done to just about any 7.3 PSD, I have seen guys use a 1 or .5 watt resistor, it's really simple even I got it to work.

I used a 1/2 watt 10k resistor on my 2003 F350 Fx4 (no diodes, no rough idle). I also did the tymar crossover and it helps out by running even smoother...
