Since many of you have been wanting to know when I was going to get around to getting my truck back together, its finished. Man, she really gets it with the fourspeed compared to the C-6 slushbox...I can definitly feel the increase in power. The math works out to that I'm getting around another 70 hp to the rear tires. Also put in the Canton baffled racing pan with the crank scraper and windage tray...I swear the crank spools up quicker but I'm sure its my imagination. Also back to running a HVH 2" drag spacer under the Holley and everything seems to working well. All bets are off which driveshaft is gonna let loose first
Do we have an official fte bookie taking bets yet?
I've been trying to avoid the high rpm drops because getting that 4-speed in there was a serious dog. Last thing I want to do is smoke my clutch and be yarding it out again. I still need to make a safety loop for the driveshafts. Not that I'm being paranoid.....
well, i have to tell you while you were putting the super beast back together, i was busy taking the 3" BL of mine....i also got rid of the 35s and went to some 29s.......but i have to tell you all that my scout is up and running, and ready for the spring over.....hehe, oh ya, my money is on the rear as well.
Idio, were you joking about going to 29s? Please tell me this was a cruel prank . . . you know the idea is to build a BIGGER truck right?? Now how will you pull your Scout out??
its no joke.....its sad....i cried...really. it looks so pathetic now i hate it!! but its going towards a better cause...... as for pulling my scout out......hahaha, im not going get stuck.....wait, i wheeled it tonight and get it stuck...i had to pull it out with my truck, i almost rolled it actually. haha, but if you read my post about really big tires, youll see my plans for the scout. i dont think it will get stuck too often....honestly...especially after i get that 454 in there.
Whoa, what happened to the 460? Looks like you lost a few C.I. there somewhere. You're a nut. I think your axles will weigh twice what the rig does. I don't get why you had to poor cold water on the Ford?
Pro, I'm guessing that rear shaft takes a dump. Low gear with that extra HP is going to be a killer. Glad to hear she's up and running! You're going to run out of weak links at this rate!
Np-435. Which out of the box is FAR stronger than a similarly stock C-6. Sure, I coulda dropped more than a grand into my C-6 to get it to live with my truck....or, I could just get a free Np-4325 and spend less than a hundred clams on a rebuild kit and off I happily go. Added benefits of less problems, more hp to the rear wheels, and simplicity. Plus, I just like sticks.
Looky what I found . . . where's our bookies? Okay Pro, we hear all about the videos but never see them . . . then you tell us about the NW events you'll be at and don't show. Now all we want is pics of the carnage . . . what gives???
Just ribbin' ya man. Now in retrospect this one is REALLY funny:
