mileage with Predator?

What kind of mileage increase is everyone seeing with the predator? I am getting 16 in the city without predator. But I would like to see a little more power, just not really wanting to loose mileage.

Too early to tell yet. I was getting 14 around town combined highway for short distances. I will post as soon as I can run a tank or two. The problem is discipline. Just drive like I did before. It is a big temptation to "see what it can do". Hence mileage is lowered.

While I'm not a mileage gestapo type (I did buy an 8K lb truck )

I would say it is no LESS than stock in the 65HP mode since you have a tendency to enjoy the new power too much.... I didn't get the predator to not use it

I've had the 100HP program in for a few weeks and BASED ON THE LYING, CHEATING overhead was in the 14's around town...
put the 65 HP program in there and the half tank I've run thru there has been in the 18's with the same driving style and running around...

but again - this is on the overhead...
I don't hand calculate since it really isn't an issue with me... but the overhead at least gives you trends....

Right, I didn't buy a F250 SD for the mileage. It is just an indicator of overall health. When it takes a 20% dip after a flash, something is wrong. It helped me argue my case. I document every tank. At today's fuel prices, every little bit helps.

If I wanted mileage, I would have bought a hybrid.

Towing in the 65 HP setting I got between 1-2 mpg increase, depending on speed. So, I was happy. I don't know what it does otherwise because I don't really drive it ever without a trailer.

11k

I have 45,000 on a early 03 6.0 with little problems. I also am wondering if a preditor is worth $400 since lack of power isn't a problem. My question is I drive 1200 miles a week at 11k lbs and get 13.5 mpg at 75 mph would removing the converters and adding a preditor help?

I get around 17 MPG combined in the 65 HP mode. The mileage is about the same or slightly better with the predator. I USE the extra HP all the time. I love the way it pushes me back in the seat!

BRIANCOOPER please do this you have HIGH miliage and this is good!

Go to this thread, read completely…. Follow, on page 3..MLF250’s format, it is good…and easy! and post. Important update to instructions on page 6.
Most important part of this data...also, there “is” owners out there that have had no problems. To be fare to my methodology… I need the same from the “no problem” owners.. i.e. mileage (mileage is the odometer reading) important a “no problem” statement if you have had none.

ODOMETER reading at time of problem is critical.
In addition, please read more instructions, bottom of first page, posted by Tim L
The simpler the writing (posting) of “problem/odometer” reading………….the easier it will be to collate.
Do not need many words, NO stories.
I must reduce all the date into a usable format; extra words will take more time to complete.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...hreadid=185570

I implore all 6.0 owners to please take the time

Thanks
Tim

Now that I have the "let's see what it will do" out of system, I went for a drive where I spent time on the highway. Just normal driving, I noticed the amount of accelerator needed was less than with factory seetting. I percieve it is quieter and smoother while cruising on the highway with the 65HP program. We'll see what the mileage does.

The reason I bought a diesel is because it is suppost to get better fuel milage than the same vehicle with a gasoline engine. Not to mention is has a life expectancy of 300,000 miles. From day one my truck did not get the fuel milage that some claim. I usually average 11-12 MPG city driving stop and go traffic. After installing the Predator 65 HP with powerservice fuel additive Fuel milage is up to about 12.3 to 14.7 MPG. hopefully soon I can get it out on the highway and check the milage. I must confess though, it is hard to drive this thing like a sane person with the extra HP. The truck does run much better than stock in every aspect. Keep in mind that I've had numerous problems with my truck before the predator, now it seems to run like it is suppost to, just with much more power. I keep it in the 65 HP setting, because EGTs will exceed 1200 Degrees very fast in the 100 HP setting. Hope this info helps Jerry.

The change with the Predator is really amazing isn't it?

Yes it IS !!!
***************************
Jerry,
I noticed when I put the PS fuel conditioner in, the engine quieted down a LOT.... even without pilot injection it seems to "settle" the hard noises down...
did you experience that ????

Not sure If I want to put $12 more out per 96 gallons, but if my mileage improves and it's quieter... I may be looking for a bulk purchase somewhere !
