Just wanted to know what you guys run as far as cooling systems go on some of your modified engines. As far as water pump, cooling fan, and radiators. Also whats a good temp to keep a mildly modified 360 running at.(whats to high and whats to low)
i run the stock radiator, flex-a-lite aluminum fan, and stock waterpump on my 375hp 390.
id say the highest temp id want to see is around 200 or so, i run a 195 degree ford raceing thermostat in mine. i dont know how everythings going to work till this next weekend when my motor goes back in my truck.
Well lets see here... In my 70 F250 with a 325HP 390/C6 and A/C....I run a 190 t-stat..
And it Takes quite a bit of pulling hills here in Virginia and summer heat Just to get the T-stat to open!! LOL!! But I also run a 4 row desert cooler radiator (option in the CS)
I have always until about a year ago..had a overhead camper on it and pull the race car in tow!! and never had it over heat? even running the A/C.. Stock fan by the way!!
The only thing I will change when the Hi-Po 390 goes in..I will run a electric fan to free up some more HP!! But I have never seen any temp from mine over 200..
I run a 408 stroker in my 94 truck. I have a brass and copper dimpled 3 row with dual electric fans, a 180 Rober Shaw hi flo stat and an Edelbrock Hi Flow water pump. I havent seen it hit 200 yet! There pics of it in my gallery if your interested.
