yes i have the wind noise and wonder how ford can claim it's so quiet.. it sounds like i'm in a constant, and steady wind tunnel. i thought it was just my truck and will be discussing it at first checkup
ok what's the tbs number? I was trying not to let this bother me, but I knew the wind noise was excessive for the "quietest" truck ford has built to date. The trucks I test drove back in January had absoluetly no wind noise at 80+ mph on the interstate. My truck while quieter than most pickup's, does have more wind noise than those trucks I test drove back in January. I'm thinking it has something to do with my truck being a job#2. Other than that and an annoying chatter coming from under the steering wheel I'm happy (I'm almost certian it's a peice of tape loose on a bundle of the wires). Oh yeah one more thing, I'll be even happeir once I have the daystar kit installed!
I have also noticed the wind noise. I am assuming that it is probably the larger mirrors. I'm not sure, I usually turn up the Audiophile and keep on truckin! (04 FX4 SuperCrew)
I have 7800 miles on my 4X2 Scab Lariat. I have very noticeable wind noise, which I rationalized as only noticeable because everything else on the truck is so damn quiet. I would like to hear more about this.
My truck also has the limited slip shudder, poor mileage, jumps around on small bumps, and most of the other ailments discussed on this list,...and I still love it. All the other manufacturers can highlight any feature thay want to, this truck has the package.
I imagine I'll eventually have to stop driving it long enough to give it to the dealer for the fixes, but I just don't want to give it up yet.
There is another post on this forum about wind noise. Someone there said there was a TSB but did not give a number for it.Anyway I agree it may be just the large mirrors.

This does seem to aleviate the problem! I have not regretted waiting on my order to arrive with the audiophile system, which was the main reason I had to special order my truck.
The wind noise I hear if definetly coming from the windshield area. It seems to be worse on the passenger side. To me it sounds like I'm always driving in a strong head wind.
exactly shaper, and to me it sounds like its coming from the lower portion of the windshield. I leaned my head down towards the driver side mirror today while traveling down the interstate at 75mph and I couldn't hear anything. It does however, seem to occur only around 45mph and up for me. Maybe I'm just over analyzing this lol, but I swear the trucks I drove back in January didn't have wind noise coming from the windshield area. Even my girlfriend, which rode in the trucks back in January, commented on her first ride in the new truck that it was louder than the ones I test drove. If I have time Saturday, I might make a trip back to my dealership and test drive another truck to see if it's the same way.
I know what you all are talking about with the wind noise, I am wondering if its because the truck is so quiet (no road noise) that we are picking up on the wind noise more.
The wind noise is the plastic trim at the bottom of the windshield hitting the glass. Tap it with your finger and you can tell that it is the problem !!!
Curious to know how many of you have installed a bugshield?
I did at about 300 miles, and that's when the wind noise started on mine. Still having dealer look into it next week. Coming from what sounds like drivers window lower forward corner.
Not bad enough just yet to take my bugshield off. I myself like the look it lends to the front.
