Saw a peak at the 2005 F450 chassis while in Louisville. Ford is keeping this tight under wraps due to the number of engineering and other changes that are being made. It will not be shown publicly until the stockholders meeting in May as not to compromise the enhancements. There were 250 commercial dealers such as myself and the WOW factor was quite evident. New Grille, headlamps, and a beefy looking bumper. Interior is upgraded and improved with the addition of a couple of NEAT new options which I will discuss later. The truck has a wider stance in the front end but again I really can't go into specifics keeping with the wishes of Ford. The truck reallly wasn't supposed to be shown. It was brought in covered with wrap and taken out the same way. I will update later as we get closer to the public display.
We ran about a half dozen of the 2005 Pre-builds on the 16th, and I think it is a lot of nice updates to keep the truck strong up through the 2007 redesign. Don't want to be too specific, but there are a handful of nice new gadgets on the dash that I think Super Duty owners will really like. As I understand it from within the plant, the chassis is actually going through a lot of changes for the 2005.
The same dealer who has seen the '05 responded by saying this:
Just about everything we asked for in chassis is being updated. Should keep us well ahead of the competition.
You say these changes were on the 450. The question is will that apply to the 250/350's as well? Of course if you "can" answer it as I understand the secrecy involved.
New gadgets for the dash? Hmm, EGT, boost gauges perhaps?

Hopefully they are installing these in this new beast...
