Color me paranoid too. I listen to Coast nightly and I'm with you on this. This is not a Bush thing. It doesn't matter who wins the upcoming election. Bush and Kerry are cousins, they are both Bonesmen, but, they aren't running anything anyways. They are just puppets. There is someone in the background pulling the strings.
What would happen if everyone went this way and then for some reason the power was lost?
Ok, IF EVERYONE went this way and the power went out........... All the computers would be off. So at that point what difference would it make who your internet carrier was?
Wel.....if I am running SOLAR power and not relying on the power companies that these guys want you to rely on than I guess that I am still up and running. Huh?
You guys don't get it yet. I don't want to get out of hand here so, stop me if I cross some kind of line here. There is a select few people running this world. They want you to be completely dependant upon them. Just like the gov wants you to be dependant on them. That way, when the you know what hits the you know what, They got you right where they want you.
Like I said....I'm paranoid. I think there is a higher agenda.
Solar works for a localized outage. However an event like last summer would probably take down the servers you need to link to to get out. I know most have UPS and big ones probably have on site generators. But last summer saw widespread interruptions in many basic infrastructure type service (cell phones, etc).
And if you guys are so paranoid about this then why are you on the net anyway? Isn't BB watching your transmissions right now? Aren't you risking all by trying to warn the rest of us here?
They ARE watching you (you should see what the NSA has in their basements).
But, SO WHAT? Ashcroft and Co. are doing EXACTLY what the terrorists want.
That is true, and scary, but you gotta believe in the constitution and freedom.
You do, you gotta believe. 200+ years, and we've overcome this before and
will again.
Your collective issues with Ashcroft and Bush being puppets and big brother and all, well since they have the ability to monitor your internet and e-mail usage, that's just wrong.
That said, since FTE is an American owned company/website, are my posts as a Canadian guest being monitored? And if so, WHY?
How do you pay someone who has ANY morals to do a job like that? Spying on your fellow citizens.
Anyways, back on track. I think if the power went out, and your internet connection went down, you'd still have radio. Go outside and start up your truck. If you got a radio, you can hear any emergency broadcasts.
............to get back to the Origional Thread Subject, .......BPL..broadband overpower lines....is the injection of data by specialized equipment utilizing power lines owned by the utilities. It is in direct competition to both cable and Dishe(s). It aslo emits(transmits) interference which radiates for long distances just like AM radio. It interferes with Amateur Radio but also with Federal aviation frequencies, and other federal agencies communications as well. The FCC commissioners voted to allow BPL to be installed in several test areas when it was KNOWN that is has lots of Problems. It was tested in Austria and rejected and tested in japan and Rejected because of its interference to other established existing communication(s). Only, in America, where it is legal to Bribe the Politicans does it get the offical seal of approval despite it's flawed character. Only time will tell how this situation will play itself out. Politics , money, special interests, etc. will all try to assert the 'Correctness" of their case and maybe in the END BPL will be tossed in the Dumper and rejected as it should have been in the beginning. .....s.kuteman
If Im not mistaken the electric production and transmission companys have used BPL type technologies for years. Thats how they control remote substation switchgear and
metering equipment.
Wow, you guys just leapt over my head so, I think I just sit here and maybe learn something. I don't really understand how they can do it but, how would this compete with the others? Would it cost more but be faster? If that's the case then I'm happy with what I have. I don't really need to move any faster.
Well Bob, if the notching isolates ALL Ham frequencies and the governmental communications as well then the interference should disappear. Somehow , I just don't think it is that simple. I monitor the ARRL website, e-ham.net, etc. and as of today I haven't seen any info to validate your assertion.
.....The supposedly big selling point for allowing BPL to operate was that it was going to connect all the Rural area(s) that are not served by cable. Of course, that is an economic fallacy because the cost of installation of equipment vs the number of homes that would sign up just doesn't justify the investment by the utilities. Not to mention the fact that Both dish providers have all ready saturated my rural area here in Texas and lots of other areas as well. So, that leaves BPL competing with the Established cable companies as well as the 2 major dish providers. It's just really not necessary for competition . Plus BPL has another problem in that it's equipment is very sensitive to RF signals being received on the Power lines from all kinds of existing sources......such as CB radio in the 11 meter band. There are literally thousands of CB's transmitting illegally using ham transceivers and Solid State amplifiers that will run 500 watts all day long. How is the FCC going to put a STOP to that activity???? Answer....they Ain't . We haven't even gotten to the Truckers who also have a Solid State Amp . Lots of issues to be delt with here before BPL is reliable as Cable. ...s.kuteman
