My 2001 Ex with the 7.3 powerstroke diesel recently started to smell like anti freeze when I got out of the vehicle. Upon inspection, it appears to be leaking from the vent hole in my water pump. I called my dealer and I have an appointment for wednesday to get it fixed under waranty. My question is, since I only have 34,300 miles on my

I had to replace the waterpump on my 2000 F350 at 60000mi. I started smelling antifreeze it just as you did also. I change thermostat in hopes off fixing it. But it turned out to be the pump instead. They aren`t cheap!!!

This is most disappointing I just did the 30,000 mile service and all seemed o.k. I'm glad that it is still under waranty. Even with the deductable it will be cheaper than doing it myself.
