I was just wondering if anyone has put any of these headers on their 87-91 bronco 351. If so are they any good and could you feel a difference in power and so on. They're only $160 and Im on a tight budget so I dont want to go too high in price.
Thanks
One thing to tell you about...Summit does not manufacture any of their "summit" branded products. They find the lowest bidder (read higher profit) and use them. Most of the time, Summit uses Pacesetter headers. They are notoriously crappy. You get what you pay for...keep these words in mind. If you have a tight budget, you should hold off until you can purchase something of substantial quality for youre bronco. It will probably save you in the long run.
I wound up putting a set on my 89 351. I couldn't get the stock exhaust manifolds back on as they were warped and I was in a pinch and needed the truck so there was no saving up for a high $$$ set. They worked fine for me. Wrestled a little bit to get 'em on but they are on now and haven't had any problems. Did I notice any extra power? No. Not to say there isn't any, but from the seat of my pants I can't tell a difference. My motor is completely stock though, including the exhaust from the headers back so in conjunction with other upgrades the performance increase may be more. Good luck!
bigblue,
wheelMA1 is right if you're on a budget and when you're ready go with a set from BBK or a better brand than Pacesetter. I have set of BBK's on my '96 and there's a slight notice in response. Check out ebay for headers.
