Question fuel tanks

Hey guys, i just bought a 'new' 77 F-150 long box today and i was wondering about the fuel tanks. It has the stock 19 gallon tank in the back like my 79, but it has a saddle tank on each side. I dont know how big they are, but i estimate 10 or 11 gallons. They does not have a seperate fuel filler door, the filler tube is under the fender. It also has a 3 position fuel selector swith on the floor of the cab. Is this stock or after market? does anyone else have them?
Thanx

I have this same set up on my 79' F-250...i dont know if it is stock..my tanks are 13 gallons i think..all three tanks run to the selector, located on the left side of my cab..between the door and the seat on the floor..then a single line runs from there to an electric carter fuel pump..then to the engine..it is a good set-up..i also have a switch to read fuel levels in all 3 tanks..a toggle on the dash..but it dont work right now..hope this helps some maybe it is a dealer option? My truck was built in the San Jose Plant....You might want to take the selector off..and clean it inside and out.. i took mine apart, and it had alot of crud in it..that was causing my fuel filter to go bad on a regular basis..just a heads up...

That is where my fuel selector switch is, right by the door. I has a tag above it that gives the adress of some company so i assume it was aftermarket. I dont know alot about the truck yet as i just got it today. Anyone know if you can get these tanks for a shortbed.?

i have one tank on the drivers side and i was wondering if anyone knew where i could get a new sending unit for it cause it would be nice to know how much gas it has in it. i went to my local parts stores and they looked at me like i was stupid when i said do you have one of these or can you get it and they looked at me and said umm what is it. it really is not that hard to figure out.

Ford installed three different tanks on the '70's F-series. An in cab tank behind the seat, a Mid-ship tank found between the driveshaft and frame, and an Aft tank that is behind the rear axle between the frame. Anything else is aftermarket.

I think Jeff's bronco graveyard sells them (broncograveyard).

if your main tank fuel level works..just use the side tanks till you run out..then you still have your stock tank and the guage for it...
