Anyone Dyno'd the F150 vs. the Competition?

Just wondering if anyone has had a chance to dyno their new F150, and how the numbers compared to the competition - Chevy/GMC, Dodge, Nissan, Toyota.

They (Mfr's) can all say (claim) what they want, but what's the real truth - just how efficient is Ford's new tranny & drive system.

All I get from the JBA site is that the Datsun has more torque than the semi hemi.

The Dyno for the Dodge Hemi is not too impressive, infact it's down right disturbing.

check it out at the jabahearders site (above)

Remember that is through a drivetrain. MTX would be sucking about 10-15%, while an ATX would be anywhere from 20-35% parasitically from the numbers. I wish they'd post the transmission type in each. All the big vehicles are likely auto's though cept the lightning.

the Hemi is hype. Chrysler is trying to save itself whith bringing back flashy names. The dyno results did suprise me though, must be a realy crappy drive train to be getting that little to the ground

You guys can say all you want about the Hemi being over rated and all hype, but my 04 Hemi Ram 1500 4x4 will out accelerate my neighbors 04 F-150 5.4 both loaded and empty by a pretty good margin.

04 Hemi Ram Rear wheel dyno

04 F-150 Rear wheel dyno

I don't know how they dyno'd the F-150 so low without the kick down coming in to play, so you have to compare the charts at equal RPM's. As you can see, the peak torque of the 5.4 and Hemi are pretty even, though the Hemi has the advantage of a flatter torque curve. The Hemi also makes a bunch more RWHP than the 5.4. No hype, just facts.

You think the Hemi's bad? Look at the graph I posted for the F-150 3V 5.4. If the Hemi is disturbing, the 5.4 must be disgusting.

The thing that disturbs me about the Hemi is the dropping valve problem it has. It happened to a kid at school with an '04 Ram.

I saw an article in a mag. once that did this actual test. As I recall, the Ford actually was one of the worst at getting power to the ground. If you look at these tests, it becomes obvious why a manual tranny produces better fuel economy.
