I am kinda dissapointed about my flowmaster 40...I have a 4.2L and although it is kinda loud(WOT), I want a loud and annoying muffler for when I have to race against the dreaded hondas.(fight fire with fire?) I have heard that Cherry bomb glass-packs are loud, and I want one. Anyone know how they sound comp. to flowmaster? Or how long until they "burn out"? And if any one can tell me about Texas laws about this kinda thing, I greatly appreciate it.

your local muffler shop can sell you good no-name glass packs that are much cheaper than cherry bombs. Modern Glass packs last for years. I like their sound much better than flow-master. A glass pack sounds great with a good set of headders, but they sound kind of sick on manifolds.

Don't get too excited here, Its gonna be hard to make a 4.2L sound like a big block. I've never heard one with a glasspack on it. With a glasspack you are gonna get more of a thrush tone, raspy-cackle-cackle sound. With a flowmaster you will get more of a mean tone that really sounds good. Remember though, FL are not cheap by anymeans when comparing it to a 16$ can. It all depends on the "ear of the beholder" when it come to sound. Personally I think I glasspack would be better, FL seem to be more popular on cars.

thanx 4 the replies! They wanted 50 bucs for a weld job!?! I just took a hacksaw and some c clamps and did it my self. It is so much louder than my flowm.! Im really plzed! Just gotta find sumthin to do with my Flowmaster...
